Prof. Phil Hart is Chief Researcher at the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Research Center at the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), a cutting-edge UAE-based scientific research center. He heads the research and development of next-generation energy systems and solutions.

Prior to joining TII, he led engineering and science teams in R&D within academia and industry, in an international career spanning Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Prof. Hart has more than 35 years of experience in the field of energy and power technologies – specializing in sustainable net-zero energy infrastructure and technologies, next-generation energy systems, wind, and marine energy systems, as well as in identifying the impact of business and society within the energy transition.

Prof. Phil Hart holds a PhD in Marine Engineering and an MSc in Marine Technology – Subsea Engineering, both from Cranfield University, UK. He also earned his BSc in Marine Technology from Plymouth University, UK.
